Nzinga Woods- Co Director of the AQ Program
Nzinga is an arts educator, dancer, choreographer, performer; practitioner of movement and embodied knowledge. Nzinga’s dance and performance training includes jazz, modern, hip hop, Dunham, Afro-Cuban, and Afro-Haitian dance. She has an integrated background in multimedia, theatrical production, and somatic techniques and applies that knowledge in her daily dance practice. Nzinga has danced with and choreographed for many dance companies and organizations in and around Northern California. She has traveled around the world: the Caribbean, Europe, and Asia dancing and educating school-aged youth. Nzinga received her BA from California State University Sacramento, and also completed her MFA in Performance and Choreography from Mills College. Nzinga enjoys facilitating students' expression in the arts; providing equitable arts experiences that support their creative development.
